TCA and NAIT Celebrate First Anniversary of Successful Partnership
Since its launch, affinity program has attracted 245 participants
It has been one year since the Truckload Carriers Association and the National Association of Independent Truckers announced a formal partnership – the first TCA had embraced in several years. During this time, the new affinity program has attracted 245 participants and has provided a wealth of insurance and other benefits to TCA member independent contractors and companies that utilize owner operators.
Over the past year, TCA has been promoting NAIT membership and encouraging its members to take advantage of NAIT’s many programs, especially the excellent occupational accident, contract liability, non-trucking liability, physical damage, and workers’ compensation coverage offered by NAIT through its insurance provider, Transguard. It has also promoted NAIT’s health and wellness programs, business tools, and entertainment services.
“TCA’s mission is to create success for the truckload industry, including independent contractors, and the communities it serves. Helping these entrepreneurs improve all aspects of their business by providing affordable insurance and exclusive benefits creates a win-win situation. Our joint partnership is a benefit for everyone,” said Chris Burruss, TCA’s president.
John Kaburick, TCA chairman and president of Earl L. Henderson Trucking Company, Salem, Illinois, agreed. “In our business, the carriers that are successful have a firm understanding of their costs and are always on the lookout for ways to enhance their bottom line. They want innovative, competitive options for their business. We believe this partnership with NAIT is designed to provide just that,” he said.
Speaking on behalf of NAIT, David King, vice president of association programs, said, “Finding and retaining the best independent contractors is a priority of any successful motor carrier. NAIT provides the benefits and services independent contractors need to maximize profitability and improve their life on the road. NAIT is where independent truckers turn for answers.”
NAIT will be exhibiting at TCA’s Annual Convention, March 13-16, 2011, at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront and Convention Center in San Diego, California. Be sure to visit booth #727 for more information about the organization’s outstanding products and services.
