Is Your Company’s NTDAW Activity Listed on DriverAppreciation.com?
Reach out to as many professional truck drivers as possible by posting to the only NTDAW event database that is searchable geographically
National Truck Driver Appreciation Week (NTDAW) is quickly approaching‘September 11-17, 2011—and soon the trucking industry will have the privilege of honoring and recognizing the true knights of the road, its professional truck drivers. In conjunction with NTDAW, companies across the U.S. and Canada will be hosting special events and promotions for drivers. Whether providing entertainment, distributing giveaways or simply offering coupons or special discounts, the trucking industry will give back to those who have made tremendous personal sacrifices to keep America’s freight moving.
In fact, there will be so many appreciation activities that the Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) and its industry partner, uDrove® LLC, now operate an online searchable database to keep track of them all. Through this Web site, www.DriverAppreciation.com, professional truck drivers can easily locate upcoming NTDAW activities taking place in North America and plan their schedules accordingly. Events can be searched within a specified state/province, city, and/or distance in miles from a city. Event listings provide not only basic contact and location information, but also the type of activity (free meal, discount offer, prizes/gifts, etc.), drivers who may attend (all CDL holders, only CDL holders affiliated with the host company, etc.), and if the general public and media are invited to participate.
To ensure that the listing is as comprehensive as possible, TCA encourages companies to visit www.DriverAppreciation.com and register their events immediately. There is no cost, and it only takes a few minutes to post an event.
“Compiling all the Truck Driver Appreciation Week events and putting them in one place is a convenience for the drivers, which of course is our main goal, but it’s also useful for the press as they cover NTDAW events and the week itself,” said Gary Salisbury, TCA chairman and the president and chief executive officer of Fikes Truck Line, Inc., of Hope, Ark. “Anything we can do to make it easier to generate positive publicity about drivers and trucking is a good thing, so I strongly encourage all companies to get their events listed as soon as possible!”
Salisbury added that companies are asked to download a NTDAW banner graphic to display on their own Web sites, linking drivers to the clearinghouse. For complete details and to register events, visit www.DriverAppreciation.com.
