TCA’s Refrigerated Division Wraps Up Annual Meeting
7/11/2014

Successful event provided education, networking, and social opportunities geared toward operators of temperature-controlled equipment

Park City, Utah:

This morning, the Refrigerated Division of the Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) concluded its annual meeting at the Grand Summit Resort at Canyons in Park City, Utah. The 31st annual event provided the ideal forum for those who operate temperature-controlled equipment to meet with their peers to discuss problems, share ideas, and seek solutions unique to their specialized area of operations.

This year’s program was both fun and informative. Luke Williams, professor of innovation at the NYU Stern School of Business, outlined a unique way of thinking he calls “disrupt” — in which business leaders craft ideas that alter the trajectory of a business and revive stagnant markets. Another session featured a panel of truck manufacturers discussing the latest in OEMs and technology. The meeting also featured John Larkin, managing director of Stifel Nicolaus, who provided a financial analyst’s perspective on the outlook of refrigerated trucking.

The ever-popular Trucking in the Round workshops offered interactive discussions on topics such as the Food Modernization Safety Act, working with independent contractors, and innovative ideas for keeping driver satisfaction high. In addition, attendees had plenty of time to network while also enjoying golf, receptions, and several meals together.

Recordings of the educational sessions held at the 2014 Refrigerated Division Annual Meeting will be posted to Truckload Academy On-demand, TCA’s virtual training and education platform (www.truckload.org/TAO). Here, TCA members and others can get 24/7 access to audio synchronized PowerPoint presentations, downloadable copies of the speakers’ slides and handouts, and the option to download the recordings as MP3s for learning on the go.
