Throughout my life I have always been impressed by the amount of knowledge my father has gathered from being a part of the trucking industry. Through his experience and devotion to the trucking industry, my father has played an important role in my search for a finance internship, as well. He has helped me widen my scope of companies, in search of one that may offer a summer internship. The amount of contacts he has developed and companies he works with is truly amazing. In fact, many of the companies I have interviewed with thus far are ones with which I was not very familiar; the only reason I submitted my resume to those companies was because my father suggested it to me.

Additionally, the fact that my dad has had the ability to work from home for the majority of my life has enabled me to develop a stronger relationship with him. I see this as an added benefit to already being involved in an extremely lucrative and successful industry. He is allowed so much flexibility being able to work from home that I have realized that I, too, would love to have a career just like my father. The goal to have a career that is as flexible and accommodating as the trucking industry has pushed me to succeed in school. My dad has also been a driving force in my success and I honestly do not believe that I could have gotten to this point in my academic career without his influences and the knowledge I have gained from him – the knowledge that he gained from being involved in the trucking industry.
