My dad has worked in the trucking industry my whole life. He has worked as a truck driver, he’s worked in customer service, and operations and sales. He has great respect for everyone he works with and he works hard and for long hours to finish the job to the best of his abilities. As a student, I have modeled myself after my dad’s hard work and dedication. I have learned that hard work and respect pay off, and sometimes it is the intrinsic value that is most worthwhile. Because my dad’s job requires him to travel a lot, my family doesn’t get to see him as much as we’d like. We treasure the times we get to spend together, as simple as all of us eating together or just watching a movie together. Also, because my brother and I are both in sports, my dad always tries his best to make it to as much as he can, even when traveling has him across the state or country. And we appreciate that. Also, because his job has him working all the time, even at home sometimes, we learn from his commitment that the qualities he uses in work transfer to the rest of his life. He shows us how to live life with respect and hard work, the same qualities he learned from working in the trucking business for so long. |
