Fikes Truck Line, LLC

I was only 8 when my mom brought home my first model of a Peterbilt 379. She had worked as a secretary at an electrical supply house since she was 18, but in June 2001, an opportunity to be in payroll came up at a local trucking company and she decided it was time for a change. She has always said it was the best thing she’s ever done. Trucking has changed quite a bit over the years, but she has thrived in every opportunity given to her. She is now the lead recruiter at Fikes Truck Line, LLC. Without the trucking industry, my brother, sister and I wouldn’t have had the opportunities we've been given. Being a single mom since 2001, the people in her line of work have become our ‘extended family’. If someone is struggling, you can bet a truck driver or an employee from Fikes will lend a hand. To me, that is amazing to see and my mom is fortunate to be among these people everyday. I am the first person in my family to be able to attend college and the trucking industry has made that possible by giving my mom a job she loves and a means to provide for her family, therefore making our lives a little easier.
