Truck Driver Photo Contest
Deadline June 16, 2006
Click here to view the 2004 Winning Photos.
Eligibility
The contest is open to any truck driver who is currently
employed with or leased to a trucking company. Photographs
from professional photographers will not be accepted.
Up to three photos may be submitted per driver, so be sure
to select only your best pictures.
Clearly label each photo with your:
- Name
- Address
- Telephone
number
- Company name
address
and telephone
number
- Short description of each photo (where you took it, why you took it, etc.).
Hint: Writing directly on the back of the photo in dark
marker or pen sometimes bleeds through onto the photo in
front/behind
it. We suggest you write on a label or post-it note and
affix this to the back of each photo. We also suggest you
place
a sheet of paper between each shot to prevent bleeding
as the photos travel through the mail system and use a piece
of cardboard in the back to prevent bending.
Documenting “Life on the Road”
Photos may feature any segment of the trucking industry;
however, we are particularly partial to truckload-oriented
photos (as opposed to LTL, tow trucks, moving vans, etc.).
Photos may include standard truck shots, action photos,
pictures involving a truck and kids and/or pets, close-ups
of truck
parts, views of roads, or depictions of life on the road
such as truck stops, loading docks, inspections, weigh
stations, etc. Photos that convey a positive image of trucking
will
have a better chance at winning.
Digital Photos
Digital photos are accepted, but not encouraged. If you
do use a digital photo, you must print the photo out in color
for the judges to compare against all the other entries. The digital photo must be 300 dpi or larger to ensure a high enough resolution. We will ask for your digital file only if the photo wins.
All photos become the property of
the Truckload Carriers Association and will not be returned.
TCA reserves the
right to use any photo it receives in future TCA publications,
with appropriate name credit given to the photographer(s).
Photos will be judged by the TCA staff and contest sponsors.
The decision of the judges is final. Contest winners agree
to allow the use of their name and other appropriate identification
in press releases that may be sent to the winners' company
and media outlets. Submissions must be received in the
TCA
office by close of business June 16, 2006.
