Industry Image Promotion
Carriers Association (TCA) works constantly to increase awareness about
the trucking industry and to promote its positive image.
TCA Outreach Programs
With a growing list of outreach programs and initiatives, the Truckload Carriers Association is constantly working to increase awareness of the trucking industry, and promote its positive image.
Since its inception in August 1997, TCAís Highway Angel program has recognized hundreds of professional truck drivers for the unusual kindness, courtesy, and courage they have shown others while on the job. Their good deeds range from simple acts of kindness, such as fixing a flat tire, to heroic life-saving efforts, such as pulling someone from a burning vehicle and administering CPR.
Wreaths Across America - Truckload of Respect
As part of Wreaths Across America, TCA's Truckload of Respect program recruits member companies to ensure that every remembrance wreath donated for
placement on a veteran's grave as part of the Wreaths Across America
project is delivered to its destination without cost to the charity or
the cemetery. TCA also provides fund-raising support to place remembrance wreaths at Arlington National Cemetery.
The Wall That Heals
The Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) and the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund (VVMF) have partnered to bring The Wall That Heals to communities across America. A 250-foot replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, The Wall That Heals honors the more than three million Americans who served in the U.S. Armed forces during the Vietnam War.
U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree
Representing one of the most patriotic industries in the country, TCA has proudly sponsored the Capitol Christmas Tree since 2012. Transportation of the immense tree from its home forest to the grounds of the U.S. Capitol is an annual tradition that began some 50 years ago.
As part the cross-country journey made on its way to Washington, DC each year, the tree makes stops in dozens of communities along the route. To showcase truckingís involvement in transporting the tree, TCA works to coordinate stops at major public events.
National Truck Driver Appreciation Week Health Fairs
As part of National Truck Driver Appreciation Week (NTDAW), held in mid-September each year, TCA has historically hosted free driver health fair events at select TravelCenters of America/Petro locations, nationwide. Our state trucking associations and members of TCA's Health & Wellness Task Force help to make these health fairs possible.
Trucking Moves America Forward
Trucking Moves America Forward has
established a long-term industry-wide movement to create a positive image
for trucking, including efforts to ensure that policymakers and the public
understand the importance of the trucking industry to the nationís
Most Americans donít realize how essential trucks are to
their lives until there is a severe weather event or adverse conditions that
prevent trucks from delivering. But the fact is, trucks are critical to
our national and global economy, to our families, to our businesses, and
so much more. When they stop moving, the country stops moving.
to meet those who contribute to the trucking industry
