TCA's Past Chairmen's Award Presented to James Hardman,
Transportation Attorney
Orlando, FL - James Hardman, Special Counsel
to Dart Transit Company, was presented the prestigious
Past Chairmen's Award during today's general session
at the Truckload Carriers Association's Annual Convention
in Orlando, FL.
The Past Chairmen's Award is given to recognized industry
leaders who make a significant contribution to the business
community, the industry, and the Truckload Carriers
Association. The Past Chairmen's Award is the highest
award of recognition given by the Association.
Mr. Hardman is a long-time advocate of the trucking
industry and accomplished attorney specializing in transportation
law. He is an expert in the use of independent contractors
within transportation and protecting their special status.
He served as founder and partner of several law firms
specializing in administrative matters before the Interstate
Commerce Commission and the National Labor Relations
Board, as well as, trial and appellate matters before
the federal judiciary.
From 1984 to 1994 Mr. Hardman served as Vice President
Administration and General Counsel at Dart Transit Company
where his responsibilities included providing legal
counsel, long-range planning, public and legislative
relations. He continues to serve Dart as Special Counsel
and currently runs his own law practice where he works
on corporate, insurance, freight collection, damage,
and employment issues.
Mr. Hardman has been active in the trucking industry
throughout his career. He has lead transportation law
seminars for numerous associations, served as President
of the Transportation Lawyers association, and Director
and Chairman of the Minnesota Trucking Association.
Additionally, he is a past Board Member and Chairman
of various committees for the Truckload Carriers Association
and the American Trucking Associations. Hardman has
won lifetime awards from the Minnesota Trucking Association
and the Transportation Lawyers Association.
Pat Quinn, past chairman of TCA and presenter of the
Past Chairmen's Award, said: "How do you properly

so many decades. It cannot be done justly. Suffice it
