Introduce Innovative Fleet Manager Training Package
Daily Dispatch Challenge Is Only One of Its Kind
Alexandria, Virginia – The Truckload Carriers Association and Delmar Learning
are pleased to introduce the Daily Dispatch Challenge (DDC) and the new Dispatcher
Training Guide, a fleet manager training product that is revolutionizing the
way dispatchers train.
The Daily Dispatch Challenge is a simulated, interactive,
multimedia training CD-ROM that works like a game, but may
be the most important management and retention
tool a company will ever use. A leader’s supplement, the Dispatcher Training
Guide (workbook) is also available for use wherever the DDC is being utilized
and provides virtually anyone who communicates with drivers in the trucking industry
with the management skill set they need for on-the-job success. The Daily Dispatch
Challenge CD and Dispatcher Training Guide are stand-alone products and can be
purchased separately or as a package.
The product is the only one of its kind, an outstanding
new training package which helps foster a skill set including
interpersonal communication, collaborative
and decision-making skills, and the ability to handle stress and resolve conflicts,
by presenting real life issues and scenarios that fleet managers are likely
to face on the job. Users of the Daily Dispatch Challenge
respond to these events
and a mentor provides advice and encouragement, and reinforces the communication
skills and abilities fleet managers need to be successful.
Gary Kelley, Vice President of Driver Recruiting for U.S.
Xpress, Inc., Chattanooga, TN, explained, "I haven't seen anything as good as this for training new
dispatchers. Most companies sit the new dispatcher down next to someone with
experience - then hope for the best! This program covers all the basics. I believe
both new and veteran dispatchers could benefit by going through the training."
Since the fleet manager is the primary link to driver performance
in any trucking organization, fleet manager and dispatcher
training are critically important
to a carrier’s bottom line, especially when implementing the new hours
of service regulations. Taking the time to properly train fleet managers can
improve a carrier’s miles driven per unit, driver turnover, accident involvement,
and fuel cost.
The DDC is portable, can be operated by multiple users
without them ever having to go off site, and can be used
either in a formal training program or in self-directed
study. The Daily Dispatch Challenge and Dispatcher Training Guide can be ordered
by visiting www.truckdriving.delmar.com or calling 1-800-477-3692.

TCA is the only national trade association whose collective
sole focus is the truckload segment of the motor carrier industry.
The association represents dry van, refrigerated, flatbed,
and intermodal container carriers operating in the 48 contiguous
states as well as Alaska, Mexico, and Canada. Representing operators of over 200,000 trucks, which collectively produce an annual revenue of over $20 billion, TCA is an organization tailored to specific truckload carrier needs.
