TCA's Benefactor Program
In 1998, the TCA Scholarship Trustees began laying the groundwork
for a stronger Scholarship Fund by launching the TCA Benefactor
Program. As the program continues to build on its successes,
your support continues to be a vital part of the Scholarship
Fund's future.
It is the mission of the TCA Scholarship Fund to provide
scholarships for promising men and women who may later have
a career in the trucking industry. In this way, we hope to
further the education of those students who understand the
importance of the trucking industry and the vital role it
plays in the lives of all Americans.
The students who apply for our scholarships are employees,
children, or grandchildren of employees or independent contractors
of trucking companies. We foresee that these students are
the future of our industry.
Now you can help a new generation of young men and women
enjoy the benefits of an education by including the TCA Scholarship
Fund in your financial and estate planning. The Benefactor
Program is an ongoing program that will continue throughout
the lifetime of the Scholarship Fund. Participation in the
Benefactor Program enables the TCA Scholarship Fund to further
enhance the trucking industry. General support for the TCA
Scholarship Fund through the Benefactor Program is vital to
the continuous growth of the TCA Scholarship Fund, thereby
allowing the Trustees to award a greater number or amount
of scholarships each year.
All Benefactor Program supporters will be recognized in TCA's
newsletter, The Truckload Carrier Report, and at the TCA Annual
Meeting.
The TCA Scholarship Fund extends its appreciation to everyone
who becomes a member of the Benefactor Program. Contributions
or gifts made to the TCA Scholarship Fund, a Section 501(c)(3)
organization under the Internal Revenue Code, are considered
charitable contributions for U.S. federal income tax purposes.
Your Benefactor Gift Commitment to the TCA Scholarship Fund
can be in the form of memorial or tribute gifts; stocks or
securities; or bequests.
Memorial or Tribute Gifts
Honor the memory of a loved one or celebrate the accomplishment
of a friend or family member by making a memorial or tribute
donation to the TCA Scholarship Fund. When you make a memorial
or tribute donation, the TCA Scholarship Fund can send an
acknowledgement card to the family or the honoree. Don't forget
to include the name and address of the appropriate person(s).
The amount of the gift always remains confidential.
Stocks or Securities
Your donation of a gift of stock to the TCA Scholarship Fund
can have a positive impact on the future of the TCA Scholarship
Fund, and you may save capital gains taxes. Consult your accountant
or attorney and then contact TCA to find out how you can transfer
these assets to the TCA Scholarship Fund.
Bequests
You can support the TCA Scholarship Fund through a bequest
made in your will or family trust document. You may choose
to designate a specific gift or a percentage of your estate,
or you may name the TCA Scholarship Fund as a conditional
beneficiary. Consult your attorney for the appropriate legal
language.
