TCA Silent Auction – March 11-14, 2007

What's it About

The TCA Scholarship Fund began awarding scholarships in 1986. Since that time the Board of Trustees has been able to increase the number of scholarships from 3 to 18 and raise the award amounts from $500 to $2,000 and two at $3,000, thanks to the generous support of TCA's Membership.

In our efforts to continue to increase the amount of scholarships the Fund gives each year, we hold one special fundraising event, and this year TCA will host a Silent Auction in the Exhibit Hall at the 2006 Annual Convention at the Gaylord Palms Resort in Florida.

How to Get Involved
The Auction is open to both TCA Carrier and Associate Members, just fill out the form and fax it back to TCA. Items have varied from "Wine of the Month Club", Golf Clubs, Vacations in wonderful resorts to technology items such as Ipods, GPS Systems, to a Bose Stereo. We are asking that Silent Auction Items have a minimum retail value of $500, and that they not be gift cards, as they are hard to auction off for a fair value.

When and How Will the Auction Work?
The Silent Auction will be held during the Exhibit Hall hours at the Annual Convention at the Bellagio Resort, Las Vegas, NV, March 11-14, 2007. There will be one central area where we will have tables clearly marked as the Silent Auction Area. The tables will have photos of each item, which will also have the booth number of the Exhibitor [if appropriate], and if the item is small enough, the Exhibitor can have the item at their booth, and/or we will also have a photo of the item at their booth as well. Each participating Exhibitor will also have their booth marked as being part of the TCA Scholarship Fund Silent Auction.

Benefits for Participating

  • Increased booth traffic for those participating in the Auction.
  • The list of companies and items donated will be posted on the TCA website, and will also be listed in the Silent Auction Booklet, along with booth numbers.
  • Self-Satisfaction that you are helping a trucker, their spouse, children or grandchildren to further their education with a college degree.
