TCA Announces WorkForce Builders Conference

Discover strategies for driver recruiting and engagement, hiring diesel mechanics and owner operators, staff training, and more

Alexandria, Virginia:

The Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) is taking a fresh look at human resources issues with a new annual event, WorkForce Builders Conference (WFBCON). The conference will address recruiting and engagement, fleet management, hiring, and related best practices and strategic ideas at The Westin Indianapolis, June 28-30, 2016, Indianapolis, Indiana.

WFBCON drills deeper into the variety of issues trucking executives face as well as many of the responsibilities handled by managers. This includes hiring and retaining drivers, diesel mechanics, and office personnel, as well as attracting new people to the industry.

“Over the past 77 years, TCA has amassed a huge wealth of knowledge on how carriers can be more operationally efficient, especially in the areas of human resources,” said Shelley Mundy, director, recruiting and retention, of Cargo Transporters, Inc., and the chairman of TCA’s Recruitment & Retention Human Resources Committee, which is working in conjunction with TCA staff to develop the content for the conference. “We’re going to address what is happening today, focus on proven methods and best practices, and look at how the trucking industry is evolving in order to be prepared for tomorrow.”

WFBCON participants will learn new strategies for:

• Driver recruiting and engagement
• Hiring diesel mechanics and owner-operators
• Staff training and certification
• Compensation and benefits
• Employee relations
• Technology
