TCA President Receives Diversity Advocacy Award

Alexandria, Virginia:

The Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) is pleased to announce that its president, John Lyboldt, has won the 2016 Diversity Advocacy Award from the National Association of Minority Automobile Dealers (NAMAD). The award was presented during the organization’s annual membership meeting in Miami, Florida.

The award stems from Lyboldt’s previous employment as senior vice president, dealer services, for the National Automobile Dealers Association, an organization that represents franchised new car and truck dealers, their managers, and their employees. Before that, he spent 17 years as the president and CEO of the Rochester Automobile Dealers Association in Rochester, New York. He came to TCA in December of 2015.

Damon Lester, president of NAMAD, said, “This award is in recognition of John’s courage, character, and consistency in assisting ethnic minority dealers to succeed in the automobile industry.”

Helping to shape the future for minorities is a cause that Lyboldt has been passionate about for many years. According to Russell Stubbs, TCA’s chairman, “Individuals who are honored with awards like this are doing something they see as important and meaningful. I know John did not expect gratitude, recognition, or a pat on the back. But from TCA’s perspective, hearing that he has been honored in this way reconfirms that we made the right decision in selecting him to lead our organization.”
